Her work is inspired by local art traditions, including Pennsylvania Dutch, German Folk and ancient illuminated manuscripts, as well as her life-long fascination with zoology and botany. Both brightly intricate and darkly surreal, her work explores the relationship between the beautiful and the macabre, between nature and the spirit realms.
